Fridays and me.

What Fridays are all about....

* The Friday feeling, which is more out of habit from my younger days but I still roll with it.

* Last working day of the week, this can be seen as a good or a bad thing depending on whether you like work or your children.

* Early finish in work, if I'm lucky just because its traditional.

* Friday treat, usually involves something chocolatey, so what if all my hard work of the week is blown in one day, its Friday!

* Pizza night, which basically involves very little cooking.

* Gogglebox, I actually love watching people watching TV! Such a brilliant concept.

* No early night, with no regard for the early swimming lesson that takes place on  Saturdays, Fridays are all about the rebel.

* Strawberry cider, currently taken over from wine as it gives me such a sore head and swimming lessons and a fuzzy head don't mix!

* The Nixtape on radio 1, which in no way compares to the Golden hour with Chis Moyles, ahh those were the days.

* #TheList linky - for obvious reasons this is one of my fav's! hosted by You baby me mummy and Mums days. If all else fails during the week I make sure I link up with this one, I then feel I've at least accomplished something.

* Dry shampoo day, this is probably just me but hey ho. For me Saturdays are hair wash days so Fridays are touching on border line grease, yuck I know! But us parents have to schedule these things in and sometimes the hair doesn't cooperate with this schedule.

* I always post a relatable photo on my Facebook page these usually involve very important quotes or pictures, as seen below, to share my Friday feeing.

* I used to always have a tan on a Friday as my tanning day would be a Thursday, ready for the weekend. Unfortunately this habit died along with my social life after baby no2. But I want to get back into this habit now the sun's out and the legs. Fridays are all about smelling like biscuits.

* Tots100 #Willynilly, who re-tweet you and your post, this week I was a day early and extremely keen. Opps!

This pretty much sums up my Friday.
I'm off to enjoy, hope you all do the same

Boys and me.

I had the unfortunate task of sitting in a confirmed spaces with my darling brothers for a 5 hour journey last week. It was an experience. It's been a few years since I was put through that kind of torture.

I see my brothers fairly regularly but usually with their partners and children in tow and not for any significant amount of time, an hour or so is more than enough!

Men are without a doubt completely different when in the company of their better half's and their off spring. They're on their best behaviour.

Here is some of my realisations about the male species:

* The relentless Clash of Clan talk - if you don't know what this is then your very lucky, I wish I didn't.

* They can eat 3 burgers at BK, 2 packets of crisps and 2 jumbo snickers - guilt free :( All between lunch an dinner.

* They stress relentlessly about anything an everything, how far we're going, how far we have left to go, the speed we're going, the temperature... and so on.

* They criticize every other driver on the road, whether it be that they're driving too slow, too fast, too erratically or to normally. Even the one brother who cant drive had his fair share of opinions.

* When discussing a subject they know nothing about, they will make it up and suddenly become experts. They are pro's in winging it and talking utter BS.

* When talking to them, you know you'll have to repeat yourself in 10 minutes as they didn't take it in the first time. They will then without a doubt ask you the same thing again and probably again.

* If you're uncomfortable, hot or hungry your moaning, if they are its the end of the world.

* They think they can do any accent and your meant to be able to recognise which one it is straight away, even though they all sound the same!

*  Football talk, suddenly they take on a serious tone and get all politically correct. Don't get me wrong I'm a lover of football and a big supporter of Chelsea, but its still only a game. Its not life or death and I cant recite all the players, goals or games ever played! who has time for all that, oh yea men do.

* Staying up late the night before the long journey back, playing drinking games and doing shots is just funny antics but if I did it I would be irresponsible. And in no way will they admit to suffering from hangovers. Men don't get hangovers, apparently.

Please share any other realisations you may have about the male species below, I would love to hear them.

One Lovely Blog Award

I have been nominated for the 'One Lovely Blog Award'
by the very lovely Misunderstood Mummy Thank you :)

So here goes, 7 facts about me.

1) I have always had this urge to write, I have no idea what to write allot of the time but I just feel the need to write, something, anything! It can be very frustrating.

2) I was part of the single motherhood for 3 wonderful and challenging years. My daughter and I have an amzing bond.

3) I've had 2 sections, the first because my daughter was breech the whole way through my pregnancy and the second was an elective section (yes I choose it, no I do not feel I missed out on anything) Both times my waters broke before my planned sections, with my son my waters broke the day before my section date!! Impatient buggers, just like me.

4) I love my job. I am an estate agent and I did my exams whilst pregnant with my daughter, I did my very last exam weeks after giving birth and because I was breast feeding I took her with me to the exam and my mum looked after her till I finished. I passed.

5) I smoked for 13 years, but have been a non-smoker for 3 years and would never go back! Yuck. (I gave up whilst I was pregnant but stupidly started again after breast feeding!)

6) I officially have the shittest memory ever. I have to write absolutely everything down! This does my head in, allot!

7) I have been with my amazing parter just over 2 years and we have a 1 year old child. Yea fast I know, right! You could say we didn't beat around the bush! In an attempt to justify the situation, we did know each other for a long time beforehand. We are complete opposites an that is why we work so well.

Thank goodness it's only 7 facts! Phew.

How it works: The One Lovely Blog award is given to you by fellow bloggers. You simply thank the lovely person/people who nominated you, write 7 facts about yourself and then nominate another 10 bloggers!

The 10 bloggers I nominate are:

Moving and me (part 3)

The last in my 'Moving and me' saga, I'm so frigging happy about this. To say it has been a stressful episode in my life would be an understatement.

If you missed it here are my other posts

Moving Part 1
Moving part 2

The actual moving part of the move wasn't as bad as anticipated, perhaps because I was dreading it so much. It was stressful and it did take longer then I wanted it to, but it was a big relief when we were finally in.

The un-packing part has been fun (this might just be one of my weird likes) as I like organising, tidying and finding a place for everything.

The whole move was made easier by the fact the new house is so amazing and it hands down beats where we were before.

My moving realisations

* Random one to start and might just me but, I realised for 18th birthdays you get shot glasses for 21st you get wine glasses and for your 30th you get champagne glasses, all of which you will never use.

* My other half has more shoes then me, I'm not impressed by this.

* If your reason for keeping something is 'Just incase' then you'll never remember you had it, never mind use it! I had lots of 'just incase' items. like party poppers, rolls of strings and paperclips.

* White tack, which is Blue tacks cheaper counterpart (£1 land special) doesn't come off walks and dry's like chewing gum.

* Moving destroys your nails #Fact. My nails are beyond repair at the moment :(

* There will always be the odd box that you put out of sight (behind the sofa) left to unpack, that contains unessential items that you cant face chucking away but have no place for, like birthday banners face paint and batteries.

* When cleaning the old house, for the last time before returning the keys, you will feel like you lived in a dirty hovel and you will be ashamed of how grubby it looks! You will then vow to clean the new house obsessively. When In reality, everyone has stuff hidden behind the fridge, the washing machine and in places you cant reach. Its just not possible to clean every inch of your house all the time.

* The promise to clear out all the junk from the garage before the move is all LIES!! the junk just gets moved from the old garage to the new one! Junk Fail!!

* A week later you still forget where things are and you'll find yourself rushing around to find something you need just before leaving the house, like an umbrella, which was later found in the garage - of course!

* I have to hold my hands up and say, Monday morning after the school run I actually drove to the old house by mistake! I know this makes me sound like a complete idiot, but in my defence it was a Monday morning and the first day back at school after the Easter hol's.

* The biggest realisation and hardship has been the no wifi issue. Apparently it takes 2 whole weeks to change it over!!

* Kids are actually allot more resilient then we give them credit for. I prepared myself for all kinds of drama's but both my kids settled in real quickly. They both seem very happy, my son loves the garden so spends most of his time doing laps of the lawn and my daughter has the biggest bedroom so she's in her eliminate.

I hope and pray that I never have to move again.

Count Your Lucky Stars

** Warning ** this post is mostly tongue and cheek
and shouldn't be taken too seriously
Wifi.
Anyone who follows me on twitter will be fully aware (and totally fed up) of the fact I have been without Wifi for nearly 2 weeks!
YEAP 2 WHOLE WEEKS!!
Do you feel my pain :(
Can you believe that in 2015 it takes 2 weeks to move the Wifi from one address to another (which in fact is only 500yds), no nor can I!
But apparently it does.
I've complained, to Sky, to Twitter and to everyone
but it hasn't done any good.
 Like it or lump it, it takes 2 weeks (Sulk)
A blogger without internet is like toast without butter
(thank you dodgy gezza in Eastenders, for this analogy).
I'm pretty useless without it.
So this post is about counting your lucky star's, if your lucky enough to have Wifi then you should appreciate it. When I'm re-connected, tomorrow (Yippeee!) I vow never to take my Wifi for granted again.
 I intend to take full advantage of it.
** The serious bit **
Its important to remember not to take things for granted,
not even the little things. Appreciate all that you have.
Obviously Wifi isn't vitally important in the grand scheme of things,
but going without has made me realise how much I take everyday things for granted and how reliant I am on superficial things.
In this day and age we are very lucky.
So basically.....

The happiness bug and me.

This is a rare occasion for me, I've had sleep, I feel human(ish) and happy ......... cue the happiness post :)

Carrying on from my post, Happiness and me.

Here is a list of the little things that I appreciate and that make me happy, please comment below on what makes you happy? Share the happiness people.

* Blue skies
* Sleepy cuddles
* Baby belly giggles
* Sand in my toes
* Nights off from cooking
* Appreciation from my blog
* Sweaty kettlebell sessions
* 8hrs uninterrupted sleep
* The Friday feeling
* Candles, they're just so dam relaxing.
* That 2 minute breather after the school/nursery run, ahhhhh.
* Strawberry cider on a summers day
* The bottom of the washing basket, such a grown up thing to say.
* Reminiscing with old friends
* Finding blogs you can relate to and make you feel human again
* Songs that bring back memories of good times, mine shamefully is H to 0 - what's it gunna be. *Cringe*
* Receiving unexpected texts from my better half
* Cards for no reason, just because. Like the one displayed above which I received off two dear friends who thought I needed cheering up, it did the job. I've had this in my purse for going on 6 years and it still makes me smile.
* Reading a good blog and being able to totally relate and feeling more normal again. Lots of Unmumsy Mum's blogs do this for me.

Tomorrow I'll be back to my sleep deprived, miserable self with more posts like Ranting and me but for today I'm going to embrace the happiness bug.

Keep smiling people summer is coming and its Friday ☀️😊👍👙❤️
